A complete world's first: the first solar PV system to be safely installed on an asbestos roof. This client had a leaking asbestos roof, and risked either an expensive re-roof involving business downtime, or a metal overclad solution.
The Solfit overclad system is the first system in the world which can fully overclad a commercial roof in solar panels. It does this by patented interlocking panels, which form a seal and result in essentially a new roof which then pays for itself through PV production. Zero business downtime, and fully in line with asbestos standards. This system boasts a 100kW inverter, generating 86,000kWh annually. The AC electrical installation was carried out by the fantastic team at ADS Electrical Services Ltd.
The Solfit system is without doubt the best solution for leaking or damaged commercial roofs, and we are very proud to be a Gold partner with Solfit, alongside T&L Construction ltd for the overcladding works. Together we delivered this project, which won the 2024 North West Energy Efficiency award for small scale project of the year!
